Step one is sorting through the contents of the house. The first category is for all those special pieces that go to family members. After that, we divide items into what we recommend you sell, donate or toss. We'll also create itemized lists of donations for tax deductions and arrange pick up.
We also help liquidate furniture and other expensive items the family doesn't want to keep. If the proceeds are expected to be over $5,000, we'll conduct an estate sale. We also can place individual pieces, like fine art, rugs or jewelry, with appropriate dealers.
Once we know where everything is going, we'll take care of getting it there. We can have items packed and shipped to family members, as well as transport items being sold. Have a baby grand piano to ship? No problem.
Last things last. After all is said and done, there's still that closet in the garage, the stuff in the kitchen pantry, the shelves in the bathroom cabinets. Sometimes that can be handled with a bunch of trash bags and others it requires a dumpster. Whatever is needed, we're all over it.
When the house is empty, there still might be a few things you want to have done before you hand it over to the realtor. We can arrange a deep clean of the entire house, evaluate the needs for basic repairs and then obtain estimates and manage any repairs you'd like to have done.
